FAQ
Common Coach Questions
Yes — 100% free for coaches and scouts, now and permanently. DraftReady is an athlete-side tool. Athletes pay for premium card features. Coaches access everything for free because your engagement is what makes the platform valuable to athletes.
No. The Scout Portal and individual athlete cards are publicly viewable without an account. You only need to register a program if you want to receive inbound recruiting cards from athletes targeting your school.
Every athlete card has a "Request Verified Contact" button. Clicking it opens a contact request form that sends a message directly to the athlete and their agent or guardian. The athlete then decides whether to share their PIN with you. This protects athletes from unsolicited contact while still enabling genuine recruiting conversations.
Athletes self-report measurables when building their card. Verified badges are added to cards that have submitted documentation (transcripts, combine reports) through our verification pipeline — currently in beta. All cards display whether stats are self-reported or verified.
Your program gets listed in the DraftReady "Programs Accepting Recruits" directory. Athletes can then filter for your school and send you their card directly through the platform. You'll also be notified when an athlete in your sport/position range publishes a new card with your school listed as a target.
DraftReady is a profile and communication tool — it does not make recruiting contacts on your behalf. All direct communication between coaches and athletes still happens through your normal channels (email, phone, campus visits). Always consult your compliance office regarding NCAA contact period rules. DraftReady is designed to supplement, not replace, compliant recruiting processes.
